What inspired you to make this project?
The project is inspired by the paper game Cadavre Exquis (exquisite corpse) invented by surrealist artist a 100 years ago. The idea to make a digital variation of the game came from a creative workshop for kids I conducted where participants each created their own monster where we played the game as inspirational tool. On that day 2 kids were late for the workshop and I added them to an existing team by lengthening the paper with an additional piece of paper (it is very boring to play with just 2 players). At that moment one kid said 'Hay, can we make one monster the whole class together'. I really liked the idea, but quickly realized it was quite tricky to pull off. Beyond needing a quite big piece of paper and a system to each time cover the parts that were already drawn + impossible to do in the framework of 45min. As I was thinking of solutions, I realized that doing this digitally would resolve many problems as well as add many possibilities and game feautres such as animations, playing online and having theoretically infinite players work together on one drawing.
